Today was a very sad day for P. J., due to the passing of his guinea pig. I could tell he was in a bit of a slump. Luckily, I had an experiment prepared today so I hope he enjoyed it!
The lesson today was to go over the Scientific Experimental Process, starting with the prediction/hypothesis, then with the methods and materials, the results, and his conclusion.
The experiment that we did was about old, rusted pennies in vinegar and salt! I had him write his predictions down, and then we did the experiment.
He got excited about doing this, and also showed me his own experiment. It was a bag with baking soda and vinegar, where it continued to fill with gas and then pop!
