I met up with Sanghoon at Starbucks. We went over his pronunciation first, talking about his difficulty with words ending with -ts. For example, results. We also went over some minimal pairs that Koreans usually have difficulty with, like r/l, p/f, and so on. He did not have a problem when he was focused on the pronunciation; however, when he was doing his presentation, he made mistakes especially with p/f and s/sh. I will try to find an activity that will help him with this.
Next, we went over his presentation. He improved a lot from last time. The grammar was much better, with a few errors that we tried to correct. Also, his intonation of sentences had incredibly improved. So much that I didn't even have to try to listen to him. It just could be heard!
I am writing this after he found out his grade, and received an 18/20, the best he's had so far! We will meet next week to continue his presentation help and tutoring!
