Tutoring Section 1 with Mitchell Hudson
Date/Time: March 4, 2016/ 12:30p.m.-1:30p.m.
Location: CIES
Topic/Skill: Speaking and Writing in English
Feedback provided to tutee: Mitchell asked me questions for
my tutoring assessment. While I was answering to them, I realized writing
sentences and reading them were beneficial to my speaking skill. I wrote couple
paragraphs in English. He read them and explained me my grammar mistakes. We
worked on modal verbs such as would, could, should, can, can’t and preposition
related description such as “cup of coffee” and “glass of water.”
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: When
I write I should be aware of run-on sentences. I should divide them and keep
them short for a correct grammar in use.
I should write and use complete sentences for active verbs such as ‘put
it on store”, “set to medium heat.”
During the first tutoring section, I learned the meaning of
“cup” as a measurement. Mitchell also learned the other meaning of ‘cohort”
which is to be a colleague in the program or the project.
